Formulation and Development of Oral Herbal Liquid Dosage form with its Quality Evaluation Parameters

ABSTRACT
Background: The present work deals with the formulation and development of oral her BAL liquid dosage form with its quality evaluation parameters. Objectives: The present work deals with the comparative study of stability of developed oral herbal liquid formulation with marketed dosage form with its quality evaluation parameters. Methods: Here we use Poly herbs for the formulation of syrup because they express high effectiveness in a vast number of diseases. PHF shows compatible effects as those of standard allopathic drugs.The Quality assurance and Quality control tests for developed herbal syrup includes: Physical appearance(Color, Odor, and Taste), pH, Density, Viscosity, Specific gravity, Refractive index, FTIR study of active constituent used in herbal syrup, Clarity tests, solubility tests and In-vitro evaluation includes determination of poly herbal syrup will possess an important Antioxidant and Hepatoprotective activity by using: Acute oral toxicity study (LD50), determination of Antioxidant activity by using Nitric oxide free radical scavenging method and hepato protective activity by using paracetamol induced hepatotoxicity in rats. Results: According to post formulation study we conclude that the polyherbal formulations containing herbal extracts, herbal forms and products posses Antioxidant and Hepato protective activity as claimed in the literature survey. Conclusion: On conclusion, the prepared poly herbal syrup formulation we were selected F2 and F3 has demonstrated a very good Hepato protective and Antioxidant activity. It also shows other mechanisms may be Vitalizer, Energy source, Multivitamins, Immune modulator and Nutritional use.
