ABSTRACT:   For long distance transmission, Fractional frequency transmission system can provide a breakthrough. In this system, Electric power will be transmitted at frequency lower than rated frequency. By using this technology, We can increase the power carrying capability of a transmission line and also its electrical length gets reduced. In this system, a cyclo-converter will be used to change the frequency back to the original frequency for the purpose of distribution.
