Gender Disparities in contemporary forms of addiction: Love Addiction and Therapeutic Intervention

Author Name : Nandini Sarkar, Dr. Nirmala Singh Rathore

ABSTRACT : This study delves into the love addiction which has been recognized since the 1970s, empirical research on the topic remains limited due to the scarcity of psychometric tools for symptom assessment and the absence of a clear definition. This study aims to investigate gender differences in love addiction, a contemporary form of behavioral addiction centered on romantic love. It examines how love addiction varies between genders and underscores the necessity for therapeutic interventions, as this addiction can significantly affect individuals personalities, social interactions, work productivity, and romantic relationships.
