Government Initiatives for Female Higher Education in Haryana

Author Name : Priyanka Saini, Dr. Balinder Singh

ABSTRACT This study looks at the policies and initiatives implemented by the Indian state of Haryana to assist female students in pursuing higher education. Gender differences in enrollment in higher education continue despite recent progress, especially in areas like Haryana. The study assesses the efficacy of current government measures aimed at improving gender equity in higher education as well as the historical background and sociocultural variables influencing these gaps. This article evaluates the effects of different programmes, including scholarships, reservation quotas, mentorship programmes, and awareness campaigns, on increasing female participation in higher education through an extensive review of the literature, policy documents, and empirical data. It also examines the difficulties and impediments that Haryana's female students have when seeking higher education and pinpoints possible areas for state intervention and development. The findings of this study give significant insights for policymakers, educators, and stakeholders to enhance the effectiveness of government efforts and promote gender-inclusive higher education in Haryana and abroad
