Human Metapneumovirus (HMPV) and Homoeopathy A Descriptive study
Author Name : Dr Rahul Pawar M.D. (Hom), Dr Bhavana Bandagi M.D.(Hom)
ABSTRACT Human Metapneumovirus (HMPV) is a virus that belongs to the Metapneumovirus genus within the Paramyxoviridae family. It was first identified in 2001 and is an important cause of respiratory illness, particularly in young children, the elderly, and individuals with compromised immune systems. This descriptive study aims to explore the potential role of homeopathy in managing HMPV infections. Through an extensive review of existing literature, case studies, clinical observations, and surveys conducted with homeopathic practitioners and patients, the study investigates the use of specific homeopathic remedies for symptomatic relief. The research identifies common homeopathic treatments and assesses their reported effectiveness in alleviating the symptoms associated with HMPV, such as cough, wheezing, and congestion. Homeopathy could serve as a complementary therapy in managing HMPV infections. There is the need for further controlled clinical trials to determine the feasibility of integrating homeopathy into standard HMPV treatment protocols
