Hydrogels Based Controlled Drug Delivery System for Renal Carcinoma

Author Name : Simranjeet Kaur

ABSTRACT Renal carcinoma, one of the most prevalent malignancies of the kidney, poses significant treatment challenges due to its resistance to conventional chemotherapy and the potential for systemic toxicity. Hydrogel-based controlled drug delivery systems (CDDS) have showing great potential towards therapeutic art to address these limitations. Hydrogels are 3-D hydrophilic polymer scaffolds capable of encapsulating a broad spectrum of therapeutic agents, such as chemotherapeutic drugs, proteins and nucleic acids. Their more water content, biocompatibility, and adjustable physical equity allow for localized and sustained drug release at the tumor site, minimizing off-target effects and enhancing therapeutic efficacy.
