ABSTRACT

The medicinal plant, Stylosanthes fruticosa isexplored by the medicinal chemists for its distinct biological activities. The present work is designed to carry out the molecular docking studies of trans-5-Hexyl-1,4-dioxane-2-carboxylic acid, the active constituent of Stylosanthes fruticosafor the investigation of antidiarrhealpotentiality. Insilico analysis of designed molecules with 4-DKL protein was studied using molecular docking tool, GLIDE and drug likeness of the compound is established by molsoft online tool. From the results, it was conferred that trans-5-Hexyl-1,4-dioxane-2-carboxylic acid is responsible for the antidiarrheal activity of Stylosanthes fruticosa. Further the compound also obeyed the Lipinski rule of five and exhibited significant bioactivity score when studied compared with the standard drug Loperamide.
