ABSTRACT
During electric generation, PV module gets heated as a by-product of power generation. Moreover, incident solar radiation also adds up the heat to the system, which causes the rise in the PV module temperature, if the generated heat is not removed, the efficiencies decreases because of its negative temperature coefficient. The Efficiency drops with the rise in temperature, with a magnitude of approximately every 1° C increase in temperature correspond to a 0.5 percent decrease in efficiency. This present report gives the possibilities of extraction of waste thermal energy from the solar panel to maintain the efficiency and to obtain hot water as byproduct. The extracted heat can be used for many domestic applications. The outlet water temperature is observed with significant rise in temperature thus proves the potential to extract thermal energy from PV panels.
