Is There A Link Between Academic Stress and Personality Traits Like Openness, Conscientiousness Or Extraversion?

ABSTRACT

Academic stress is a common psychological state of student. On the other hand Personality Trait namely Openness, Conscientiousness, Extraversion, is a trait of big five theory of personality. Therefore the purpose of the study is relationship between Academic Stress and Openness, Conscientiousness, Extraversion of secondary school students in Howrah district.  Total 327 sample using stratified random sampling was drown for this study. Correlational design was used as a research design. Data were analyzed by Pearson correlation method through SPSS 23.0. Result indicate that there was no significant correlation between Academic Stress and Extroversion and Openness but positive significant correlation was found between Conscientiousness trait and Academic Stress.
