ABSTRACT In this project, safety, use, and accessibility in electric transportation are prioritised by introducing a motorised skateboard that controls speed using hand movements picked up by a flex sensor. The rider can concentrate on balance and stability since the skateboard uses a flex sensor worn on the hand to detect movements and translate them into speed adjustments, in contrast to standard handheld remotes that can be unwieldy. Finger movement data is sent from the sensor to a microprocessor, which uses proportional-derivative (PD) control to offer responsive and smooth speed adjustments. This helps to avoid abrupt accelerations or decelerations, which is particularly useful for travelling in cities. The skateboard's extended battery life, lightweight design, and energy efficiency all contribute to environmentally beneficial mobility. In addition to showcasing the possibilities of sensor-based control in personal electric vehicles, this design lays the groundwork for upcoming advancements in user-friendly, intuitive mobility solutions. This skateboard is an advancement in the development of smart transportation because of its focus on sustainability and control.
