Nano Particles and Nano Fluids Applications in Automobiles

ABSTRACT

Across the globe the demand of innovation and quality in automobiles has been surging, as a result new technologies are developed and tried. Recently, Nano technology is extensively used in the transportation vehicles with better comfort, safety and efficiency. With Nano technology, engineers and researchers had got solutions to the rising demands in the automotive industries and following that auto mobiles has been innovated to the newer heights in terms of ergonomics, efficiency and safety. This also made the researches to make giant strides in the development and innovation in Nano particles and Nano fluids. In this paper we briefly reviewed about the importance of Nano particles and Nano fluids in the automotive industries and their applications in automobiles. By reviewing the latest work of Nano particles from various journals and review papers, we discussed about the strength and durability of the Nano particles that are recently developed and proved to be both physical and cost efficient. The recent studies showed that the replacement of conventional fluids by Nano fluids are effective in automobiles. From various experimental studies it is proved that the thermal conductivity and heat transfer coefficients of Nano fluids are higher than conventional fluids. In this paper we discussed about various techniques used in the preparation of the Nano fluids. The combination of various mixture of particles to achieve the higher strength and to decrease the size of particles that are researched and proved are written and discussed in this paper. The applications of Nano fluids, heat transfer rate and thermal efficiency in the vehicles are being discussed in the paper.
