Nutrient Management and Survival of Lac Insects

ABSTRACT Lac production is an interaction of an insect (Kerria lacca) on its host plant(Butea monosperma).The insect feed on the host plant for its survival growth and reproduction to carry for next generation.Now since the insect is drawing nutrient from its host plant. The growth of the insect and its performance depends on the nutrient status of the host plant. In the present research both soil and foliar application of NPK was applied on the B.monosperma in different combination to study the impact on the survival of lac insects.In the present study it revealed that the treatment T2-one NPK foliar application was the best with 34.09 percent survival of lac insects
