ABSTRACT One of the biggest global health issues of the present time is obesity, which has become increasingly prevalent like epidemic. The rate of obesity is still rising, leading to an unrivalled tragedy that doesn't appear to be abating anytime soon. A number of dangerous conditions, such as diabetes mellitus, non-alcoholic liver disease (NAFLD), cardiovascular disease, hypertension, stroke, and some types of cancer, are exacerbated by obesity. Disease and fat cell size have an impact on obesity significantly. The complex and heritable trait of obesity is impacted by a combination of factors including genetics, lifestyle, hormones, environment, and medicines. The prevailing level of knowledge regarding the factors that contribute to obesity and the available treatments that both improve general health and reduce the likelihood of obesity-related problems is compiled in this review.
