ABSTRACT Vitamin C serum is a skincare product applied to the skin that has a significant concentration of ascorbic acid, the active vitamin C form. It offers various advantages for the skin, such as enhanced collagen synthesis, diminished aging signs, better skin tone and texture, along with safeguarding against sun harm. Vitamin C is a sensitive molecule that can rapidly degrade when subjected to light, heat, and oxygen. Sustaining a low pH (under 3.5) is essential for stabilizing vitamin C in serum formulations and improving skin absorption. The effectiveness of vitamin C serum is linked to its concentration, with 20% being the optimal level. Consistent use of vitamin C serum can create a permanent reservoir in the skin, offering enduring protection against sunlight. Nonetheless, not all derivatives of vitamin C in cosmetic products offer physiological benefits, as some might not be sufficiently absorbed by the skin or transformed into their active biological form. This initiative seeks to create a reliable and efficient vitamin C serum by enhancing extraction and measurement techniques. The serum’s stability and ability to penetrate the skin will be assessed under various storage conditions and application techniques. The results of this project will aid in the creation of better vitamin C-based skincare products with increased effectiveness and stability.
