Organogel: Advanced In Topical Drug Delivery System

ABSTRACT Skin has the most importance in the drug delivery system. The organogels are made up of external solvent phase Immobilized within the three dimensional network. The organogel consist of various organogelators. Organogelators are non greasy, nonirritant, thermoplastic, viscoelastic, noncrystalline semisolid prepartion. Mainly lecithin, surfactant life tween, spans are used. Organogel has ability to solubilize guest molecule and also used for purification, separation purpose, as transdermal delivery vehicle. Organogelators also have application in ophthalmic drug delivery, cosmetic preparations. From the most of topical formulation available gels are more popular due to ease of application and and better percutaneous absorption.
