Preparation and D.C. Resistivity of Ni-Mg-Zn-Co Ferrites

ABSTRACT: In the present study, the ferrite samples with the general formula Ni0.5-xMgx-0.01Zn0.5Co0.01Fe2O4 where x = 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4 and 0.5 were prepared by the ceramic method. The x-ray diffraction patterns of the samples revels formation of single-phase cubic spinal structure. The absence of extra lines in the patterns confirms the single phase formation of samples. It is observed that slope of the plot of log ρ versus l/T changes at a particular temperature which has been identified as the Curie temperature of the sample. The activation energy in the paramagnetic region is greater than that in ferrimagnetic region. The Curie tempertures obtained from logpvs. 1/T plots shows that transition temperature Tc decreases with. x.
