Raṃkuta Buddhist Monastery Is a Wonderful Example of Ancient Buddhist History and Tradition

ABSTRACT The historical Raṃkuta Banashram Vihara is located in the Ramu Upazila of Cox's Bazar District of Chittagong Division of Bangladesh. Another name for this Vihara is Ramkota Buddhist Vihara. There are about thirty small and large Buddhist Vihars and Jadis in Ramu Upazila. Another name for Jadi is Pagoda. However, a total of thirty monasteries have been mentioned in Ramu Upazila, out of which Raṃkuta or Ramkota Buddhist Monastery is the oldest. This is why the monastery possesses an ancient and rich history. As a result, it attracts a large number of devotees and visitors.
