Real-Time Object Detection using YOLO: Advances in Open Vocabulary Detection and Practical Applications

ABSTRACT This paper presents a comprehensive analysis of YOLO (You Only Look Once) object detection algorithms, focusing on recent advances in open-vocabulary detection and real-time applications. Object detection has emerged as a fundamental challenge in computer vision with applications spanning autonomous vehicles, video surveillance, medical diagnosis, and robotics. The YOLO family of detectors has revolutionized real-time object detection through its single-stage architecture that frames detection as a regression problem, enabling simultaneous prediction of bounding boxes and class probabilities.
