ABSTRACT

Spirituality is the cornerstone of Indian poetry. Often Western mind understands matter a reality but romantic school of poetry, exceptionally follows a different line of thought. They want to cut the Gordian knot of the riddle of existence and consequently they have become philosophers. Of all the romantic poets Wordsworth comes very near to Indian philosophy because he spiritualizes nature. The poem Tintern Abbey serves the best example of this statement.
