RESUMEN
Las hernias lumbares son una variedad poco común de hernias posterolaterales de la pared abdominal, representan del 2-3.5% del total de las hernias ventrales1 – 3. Se clasifican en congénitas (10-18%) y adquiridas (traumáticas 25%, incisionales 50-60% y espontáneas) 1, 3. Presentes en 10-35% de las lumbotomías y 7% en abordajes retroperitoneales4.
