ABSTRACT
Indole is an outstanding heterocyclic compound with variety of pharmacological activities due to different mechanisms of action. The active pharmacophores of various indole analogues accountable for anti-fungal, anti-cancer, anti-microbial, anti-viral, Anti-diabetic and other miscellaneous activities which makes Indoles an interesting molecule for the researchers to work on. In the current study, new series of N-(Benzyloxy)-1H-Indole-2-Carboxamides subjected to in silico docking studies with the help of crystal structure of Ornithine decarboxylase protein (PDB ID: 7ODC). New series of N-(Benzyloxy)-1H-Indole-2-Carboxamide derivatives were synthesized by adding different O-Benzyl Hydroxylamines to Indole-2-carboxylic acid chlorides. The newly synthesized derivatives were characterized by using Melting point, TLC, IR, 1H NMR and Mass spectroscopy. From docking results the compounds showed good to moderate activity which was comparable to that of the Fluconazole.
KEY WORDS Indoles, Indole-2-carboxamides, Docking studies, Ornithine decarboxylase, Fluconazole.
