Review of Encryption-Decryption for Image Data Sharing in Clouds

ABSTRACT The proliferation of cloud computing has transformed the way image data is stored, shared, and processed, offering significant benefits in terms of scalability, accessibility, and cost efficiency. However, these advantages come with critical security challenges, particularly in safeguarding image data from unauthorized access and breaches. This review examines various encryption-decryption techniques specifically designed for image data sharing in cloud environments. It explores traditional symmetric and asymmetric encryption algorithms, as well as advanced methods such as homomorphic encryption and lightweight cryptographic solutions tailored for images. The study also evaluates the performance, security effectiveness, and practical applications of these techniques, highlighting their strengths and limitations. By providing a comprehensive overview of current encryption-decryption strategies for image data in the cloud, this review aims to inform researchers and practitioners about the best practices and emerging trends in the field.
