Review on Anti-diabetic Tablet from Mango Leaves

ABSTRACT
Mango (Mangifera indica L.) belongs to the family of Anacardiaceae and genus Mangifera. Mango leaves are left as food waste. Mango leaves have been shown to be able to normalize insulin level in the blood. Diabetes is a major global public health problem. Mango tree has been claimed to possess antidiabetic properties by many investigators. It is a best remedy for the control diabetes and reduce the blood sugar level by mango leaves. Mango leaves having various properties that can help in diabetes management. Mango leaves have the capability to improve insulin production and distribution of glucose. They can help in stabilising blood sugar levels. Mango leaves are also loaded with pectin, vitamin C and fibre. Together they are beneficial for both diabetes and cholesterol. Drinking mango leaves infused water regularly can be good for diabetics. It is cultivated on an area of approximately 3.7 million in the worldwide and it is on the second position as a tropical crop, in terms of production second to bananas.
According to Ayurveda and different herbal books and journals mango tree has many Medicinal properties in different parts of the tree. Mango possesses anti-diabetic, anti-oxidant, anti-viral, anti-inflammatory properties. Various effects like antibacterial, anti-fungal, anthelmintic, anti- parasitic, anticancer, anti HIV, anti bone resorption, antispasmodic, antipyretic, antidiarrheal, immunomodulation, hypolipidemic, anti-microbial, hepatoprotective, gastro protective have also been studied by different scholars and scientists. In this review article we have studied about anti-diabetic .
