ABSTRACT Imidazole is a flat, five-membered heterocyclic ring composed of three carbon and two nitrogen atoms. Within the ring, nitrogen is located at the first and third positions. This ring is a component of significant natural substances such as purine, histamine, histidine, and nucleic acids.Being a polar and ionisable aromatic compound, it improves pharmacokinetic characteristics of lead molecules used as a remedy to optimize solubility and bioavailability parameters of proposed poorly soluble lead molecules. In the realm of medicinal chemistry, imidazole derivatives hold a distinct role. Integrating the imidazole nucleus is a crucial synthetic approach in drug discovery. The notable therapeutic characteristics of imidazole-related drugs have motivated medicinal chemists to create numerous novel chemotherapeutic agents.
