ABSTRACT

Research into epilepsy and improvement of antiepileptic pills relies heavily on studies in experimental animals. Though the conventional pentylenetetrazole-precipitated seizures and electroshock-induced seizures stay the mainstay of any antiepileptic drug screening protocol, considering the diversity of seizure sorts and underlying pathologies encountered in epilectics, numerous other seizure fashions had been developed. Some of those experimental fashions of seizures and concerns governing their selection are reviewed.
