ABSTRACT Mayurchandrika bhasma or Mayur Piccha Bhasma (calx of peacock feather) it widely used in Ayurveda to treat diseases like vomiting, hiccough, respiratory disorders. Traditional texts such as Siddhayoga Sangraha and Bhaisaiya Samhita mention distinct processes for the preparation of mayurchandrika bhasma. In Ayurvedic literature, there is prodigious importance on the pharmaceutical method known as Sanskara. This method is intended to increase the abilities of the medicine. Bhasma are generally directed as metallic & non-metallic raw materials & it revenues an ash got over incineration. The various processes of Shodhana(purification) & Marana (Calcination) & incorporation of herbal juices (Bhawna) make the drug more effective. By consuming various manufacturing procedures, the last creation is changed nano sized particles Bhasma (1-2 u)., which may simplify the fascination and acclimatization of the drug. The physical & chemical Ayurvedic checks approve the efficiency & suitability of the invention. Calibration of is essential to approve the individuality & to regulate its eminence, cleanliness & effectiveness. It had a metallic feature (bright, silky, and shiny) and was a greyish brown colour. Mayur Piccha Bhasma formed a whole yield of 5%.
