ABSTRACT The use of biological measurements, such as facial recognition, 3D scanning, and AI-driven analysis, to enhance clinical results and patient care is known as biometrics in dentistry. These technologies are being used more and more in the disciplines of prosthodontics, diagnostics, and treatment planning. The development of customized prostheses has been transformed by digital imprints and intraoral scanners, and artificial intelligence (AI) improves diagnostic precision by more accurately identifying diseases like periodontal disease and cavities. Furthermore, biometric information helps with effective patient identification, enhancing workflow and security in dental offices. Future developments in AI, machine learning, and enhanced imaging will probably broaden the use of biometrics in dentistry and provide even more individualized and efficient treatment choices. All things considered, biometrics has a great deal of promise to improve dental care's effectiveness and quality while spurring innovations that will help both patients and professionals. There is very less literature is available on the role of biometrics in prosthodontics. Hence this brief review aimed to discuss the role of biometrics in different branches of prosthodontics.
