Simulation and Evaluation of Regenerative Braking System in Electric Vehicle
Author Name : Sonawane Kalpesh, Tawade Lalit, Gosavi Ankit, Bachchhav Bhavesh, Joshi Shivani
In this study, a thorough simulation and assessment of an electric vehicle (EV) regenerative braking system utilizing MATLAB Simulink is presented. Analyzing the battery's dynamic behavior during braking, including its voltage, current, and state of charge (SOC), is the main goal. Energy recovery from kinetic energy is made possible by the effective energy transfer between the motor and battery, which is facilitated by a bidirectional converter. To evaluate the braking performance, important variables including electrical torque, armature current, and motor speed are tracked. The outcomes of the simulation show how well regenerative braking works to increase battery state of charge and overall energy efficiency. This technique may greatly lower energy usage and increase the vehicle's range, which makes it especially useful in areas with frequent braking, such mountainous terrain.
