Smart Automatic Pet Feeder System
Author Name : Shweta Kharche, Ujwal Lekurwale, Shubham Patil, Prof. Snehal Ranit
ABSTRACT Nuclear families, owing to modern urban lifestyles, have often left their pets unattended for a longer duration as they have been occupied with work. In contrast to this scenario, the paper proposes a system for automatic pet feeding, which will control the feeding of pets (mainly dogs and cats) for not less than eight hours every day. The system is via a mobile application, giving users remote access to view and control the feeding schedule. During this feeding process, a specified quantity of food is released at a thirty-minute gap and only when the pet comes closer to the feeding unit, thereby dispensing need-based food efficiently. The pet food is stored in a container from which food can be dispensed before the owner leaves for the day. In this way, starvation is avoided, and more importantly, several bucks are saved on pet care with the elimination of having to hire a pet sitter. The popularity of such systems spread worldwide with the emergence of automation and mobile app-based control, thereby coming as an easy solution and a great support for people who hardly get time for themselves.
