Spectro Photometric Method and Its Applications for Analysis of Different Samples
Author Name : Basant Kumar, Raj Kumar Bind
ABSTRACT Spectrophotometric method for analysis of variety of simple and complex mixtures very simple, andpowerfultool applied in quantitative analysis of samples from micro to trace level in many areas of clinical, chemical and life science branches. The method is applied for analysis of spectrophotometrically active substances like toxic elements including arsenic, mercury, lead, palladium and many more, pharmaceutically important drugs, analysis of proteins and nucleic acids etc. by it as being convenient and simple tool. Thismethod is useful as it provides many information regarding purity and various components of complex solution having spectrophotometric active nature. This method applied for quantitative analysis is economically favorable as it requires only the instrument spectrophotometer, that is designed so that it measures the amount of light absorbed or reflected by sample and is useful instrument present in almost all research and analysis laboratories. This method for analysis is very commonly used in quantification of concentration of analyte in broad range in solution and they are also used frequently for studying the kinetics and mechanisms of many important reactions. In this article we have discussed in detailed about the spectrophotometric method for trace analysis, basic features of spectrophotometer, its working, application of this method, including advantages and disadvantages and important applications with relevant references. Keywords: Spectro photometry, Quantitative analysis, trace analysis, Kineticsand mechanism
