ABSTRACT Background: The increasing incidence of multidrug-resistant pathogens necessitates the development of eco-friendly, synergistic antimicrobial agents. Green synthesis of nanoparticles using plant extracts offers a sustainable approach with enhanced bioactivity. Objective: This study aimed to synthesize silver (AgNPs), zinc oxide (ZnO NPs), and chitosan nanoparticles (CNPs) using extracts of Azadirachta indica (Neem) and Syzygium cumini (Jamun), and evaluate their individual and synergistic antimicrobial potential against bacterial and fungal pathogens. Methods: Ethanolic and aqueous extracts of neem and jamun were prepared and used as reducing and stabilizing agents for green synthesis of AgNPs, ZnO NPs, and CNPs. The nanocomposites were characterized using UV–Vis spectroscopy, FTIR, XRD, DLS, SEM, and TEM. Antimicrobial activity was tested against Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Candida albicans using agar well diffusion, MIC, MBC, and biofilm inhibition assays.
