The Impact of Flood on Primary Education; In Reference To Pathanamthitta District

ABSTRACT
This study investigates short and long term impact of flood on primary education. Kerala Government with the support of the United Nations Development Programme has implemented school safety programmes in every district of kerala. But this has only been done in 2 schools from each of these districts. This should not be limited into these schools but the whole state. also considering a future worst case scenario with harsh climatic conditions. the number of schools which will be affected will be 144 and 180 with a return probability of 1 in 10 years and 1 in 25 years respectively.
