ABSTRACT Nalinibala Devi, known as the transcendentalist poet in Assamese literature and poetry, is a poet and writer, the source of her work. The autobiography "Days left behind" published in 1977 mentions the author's personal life as well as the socio-political life of contemporary times. This study discusses the role played by Nalinibala Devi in social life and society during that period. The steps he took and the role he played among the various meetings of the society, the student community.
