The Socio-Economic Status of Paddy Cultivation Farmers - A Study on Bethapudi Village, Repalle Mandal, Guntur District of Andhra Pradesh

Agricultural is the backbone of India. In India, majority of the places are occupied by agriculture land. There are lot of people working in this sector. Unfortunately the farmers are very poor in the economical level. Paddy production is the major cultivation in agriculture sector. This paper is going to study about the status of agricultural paddy farmers, and Factors influencing to choose the agriculture, and reasons for the poor economic level of the farmers. Paddy Farmers are major economic wealth of the Agriculture village of Bethapudi. Agriculture is the most useful sector of people daily hood. Paddy farmers are dominant segment in rural areas in Andhra pradesh, they earn income from cultivation of agricultural land. Paddy farmers is dominant, as a largest producer of agricultural output, require to be the basis of National food producers. Productivity of paddy farmers is the measurement instrument successful of rural economic development. The purpose of this study was to analyse the influence of social economic, social demographic. It is concluded that farmers in Bethapudi village, farmers prefer agriculture mainly due to the availability of land. The advanced technologies should be used in the agriculture sector to make more profits in agricultural activities.
Paddy cultivation is a very popular in coastal districts of Andhra Pradesh. Nearly 69 percent of people depend on this paddy cultivation. It’s a vital part of human life though we need paddy cultivation for our healthy food gains, over production of utilization of paddy is very useful for different types of food items of houses and it is a very cheap item. Repalle mandal of Guntur district plays an important role in the cultivation of paddy. It is nearer to Vijayawada and Guntur towns. The present study is related to Bethapudi village in Repalle mandal, Guntur district and also nearer to my native place.
This village constitutes nearly 5,916 inhabitants 69 percent of area producing paddy.
The remaining for other cultivations. The present study is related to socio economic status of paddy farmers of Bethapudi village. The main objective of the study is to know their socio economic status, value of production, employment opportunities, to find out their health related problems of paddy production farmers.
