Treatment of Sensitive Characters in the Plays of Tennessee Williams

ABSTRACT

The Chief feature of Tennessee Williams Characterization was the portrayal of Women and men who suffer disaster, who destroy themselves or move towards self destruction and were the victims of encumbrance. Williams characters give open ended feeling to think and their troubles originate more often in faulty neurological mechanisms. In william’s work, the sufferers who do not make the grade have an air of illness or something close to it. Nearly all figures revolve around insensitiveness, destruction and loneliness. Loneliness being the main reason behind the destruction of the sensitive persons, the unromantic  and insensitive ruins their life. It is a question and a cry of the lonely, the frightened and the outcast and it illuminates the dominant theme in Williams works.
