Various Analytical Methods for Estimation of Glimepiride

ABSTRACT The collected methods are various analytical methods for the estimation of Glimepiride which is an oral antibiotic drug in the sulfonylurea class, which is widely used in treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus. The drug can be estimated by using UV method, LC-MS method,GC-MS method,UPLC method, HPLC method, Spectrophotometry, FTIR method,TLC method, Thermal analysis, Voltammetry, Potentiometry, ERMS,MDFPA in single as well as in combined dosage form. Techniques like High-performance liquid chromatography with ultraviolet, array-diode, mass spectroscopy, evaporative light scattering and charged aerosol detections, liquid chromatography-atmospheric pressure chemical ionization-mass spectrometry, liquid Chromatography-Electrospray Ionization-tandem mass spectrometry, Semimicrobore High-Performance Liquid Chromatography with column-switching, micellar electrokinetic chromatography, high-performance thin layer chromatography, polarography, and spectrophotometry have been used for analysis, from which it can be seen that high-performance liquid chromatography methods have been used most extensively. This collection may be useful for quick glance of various analytical methods for estimation of Glimepiride.
