Women’s Safety in India: Issues and Challenges

ABSTRACT

Introduction: In India women worshipped as goddesses, but safety of woman’s is threatened by various acts via feticides, domestic violence, rape, trafficking, forced prostitution, marital rape, honour killings, sexual harassment at workplace etc.

Review of literature: Dr. (Smt.) Rajeshwari M. Shettar,(2015) analyzes the status of Women Empowerment in India and highlights the issues and challenges of Women Empowerment. The study observes how women become victimized by various social evils in daily life and reveals that women of India are relatively disempowered and have lower status than that of men in spite of many efforts undertaken by Government. The study concludes by an observation that access to education, employment and change in social structure are only the enabling factors to Women Empowerment.

Purpose of study: The main purpose of this article is major issues on women safety in India and challenges on women safety in India.

Research methods: This article paper completed with the necessary data, information and facts, search of the relevant material on books, journal etc. were referred to collect the information. Online search engines really help in collecting the necessary information.

Data Analysis: This article study on women’s safety in India. Data analysis on major issues on women safety in India and also analysis of challenges on women safety in India.

Suggestion: This article suggested for women safety in India is civic awareness campaigns can help in building an understanding of women’s safety concerns.

Conclusion: These article papers conclude on the present initiatives are pioneering one, which aspire to formulate a strategic framework to make the cities safe for women.
