Equality Echoes: Gandhi vs Ambedkar

ABSTRACT : In this research paper on "Equality Echoes: Gandhi vs Ambedkar," one can delve into the contrasting ideologies and approaches towards equality advocated by Mahatma Gandhi and Dr B.R. Ambedkar. Gandhi, known for his philosophy of non-violence and emphasis on communal harmony, believed in the importance of caste within Hinduism but rejected its hierarchical nature. On the other hand, Ambedkar, a Dalit leader, vehemently opposed the caste system, viewing it as a tool of oppression and advocating for its destruction. The abstract should highlight their divergent perspectives on social reform, particularly regarding the caste system, and their significant contributions to India's freedom struggle and social transformation. It should also touch upon their historical disagreements, such as the Poona Pact, which reflected their differing visions for the upliftment of marginalised communities and the pursuit of equality in Indian society.
