About the Conference The Corona virus disease of 2019 better known as COVID-19 has created the first massive global civil emergency of the 21st century. It has caused unprecedented devastation loss of human life and description worldwide. The unraveling of the far reaching impact of the disease on social, economic, political and psychological conditions in India still continues with newer dimensions and perspectives still emerging. The lockdown imposed to combat the global disease in India particularly has had an impact on all faces of life. It has had a significant psychological and social effect on the population specially the children, college students, working women and health workers. The implementation of social distancing and the security measures have affected the relationship among people and their perception of empathy towards others. The involuntary separation from loved ones, loss of freedom, uncertainty about health conditions and losing once sources of livelihood created an indescribable feeling of helplessness. The large scale destruction to economic activities in India has adversely affected almost all the sectors of national economy. It has also given enough reasons to the government to postpone democratic activities elections and sessions in parliament various freedoms to people and legitimacy as authoritative administration and establish a police state with ferocity. Through this One day Online International Conference on Horizons in Commerce, Management and Economics: A Way Forward, held on 13th March, 2021, it’s our attempt to trace and assess the impact of COVID-19 Pandemic on economic conditions in India. The broader objective of the conference is to gauge and assess the impact international economy as a whole.
